1st XV finish 1A season on a high

The 1st XV Rugby team finished their season with a hard-fought 24-12 win over Dilworth School on Saturday 5th August in front of a large home crowd. After a mistake filled first half, Dilworth took a 12-7 lead into the break. However 3 second half tries saw Liston record their first win over Dilworth in the 1A grade. The key difference between the teams was the attack of fullback Motu Pasikala and defence of number 8 Simi Veatupu. The 2023 Auckland 1A season finishes with Liston finishing in 8th, a point behind Mt Albert Grammar School and 9 points clear of Kings College in 9th place. Following the game the team had its prizegiving in the staffroom. A big thank you to our parent group for catering and dressing up the staff room for the function and the 1st XV sponsors for their support throughout the season. The team and coaching staff are looking forward to another successful season in 2024. We look forward to seeing you on the sideline in our 50th Anniversary year. |
